Indigo Girls to preview new album during promotional tour
Indigo Girls have announced plans for a promotional tour that will take them mostly to smaller venues throughout North America.
The acoustic jaunt kicks off on Feb. 11 in Boulder, Colo., and wraps up on March 5 in Toronto. It includes a stop at the Gay Pride Festival in Ottawa. More dates are expected to be announced, according to a spokesman.
In revealing the tour, Indigo Girls Amy Ray and Emily Sailers announced that their eighth studio album, “Become You” (Epic), will hit stores on March 12. It was produced by Peter Collins, who also produced the duo’s 1992 platinum album, “Rites of Passage,” and the 1994 Grammy-nominated album “Swamp Ophelia.” “Become You” was recorded in Atlanta, Indigo Girls’ hometown.
During the tour, the album will be played in its entirety before the duo hits the stage for a 45-minute to one-hour set., which will include new songs.
