Drowning Pool, Coal Chamber and others link for tour
Drowning Pool has been tapped to headline the first Jägermeister Music Tour, the roster for which also includes Coal Chamber , Ill Nino and others.
The tour, sponsored by German liquor manufacturer Jägermeister, kicks off on March 8 in Orlando, Fla., and will hit more than 30 cities; some shows remain to be announced. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 1 for shows in Orlando, Boynton Beach and Tampa, Fla.
Dallas-based Drowning Pool, who played Ozzfest in 2001, released its debut, “Sinner” (Wind-Up Entertainment), last year. The platinum-selling album spawned the hit “Bodies.”
Coal Chamber will release its third album, “Dark Days” (Roadrunner), in the spring. On Jan. 20, Coal Chamber announced that bassist Rayna Foss-Rose left the band to dedicate her time to her daughter, Kayla, whose father is Morgan Rose of Sevendust. She will be temporarily replaced on the road by Nadja Puelen, who filled in for Foss-Rose while she was on maternity leave.
Meanwhile, Ill Nino--which blends metal, Flamenco guitars and Calypso rhythms--sent the album “Revolution*Revolucion” (Roadrunner) to stores last year. The band’s latest single is “What Comes Around.”
Besides those three bands, each show will feature a local band.
Jägermusic.com and FYE Record Stores are offering a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas to see Drowning Pool on the tour.
