Creed bumps New Jersey show due to family emergency

Creed has postponed its Friday night (2/1) performance at New Jersey's Continental Airlines Arena due to the death of guitarist Mark Tremonti's mother.

The band plans to make up the show on Feb. 23, and all tickets for the original date will be honored on the make-up date, according to the group's official website. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

The tour will resume as scheduled on Monday (2/4) in Toronto.

The group has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the With Arms Wide Open Foundation at 525 East College Avenue, Tallahassee, FL, 32301, or at the organization's official website. Creed frontman Scott Stapp is the president of the foundation, which he founded to assist families and raise public awareness of the importance of healthy parent-child relationships, according to the foundation's mission statement.

Fans who wish to send their condolences to the Tremonti family can do so at Creed's website.

Creed's current tour kicked off in Atlanta on Jan. 16.
