Busta Rhymes to remain on the road through March
Busta Rhymes ' tour in support of last year's "Genesis," which kicked off late last month, has been extended into mid-March.
Rhymes' upcoming tour comprises stops at a number of large theaters, including several House of Blues venues. The jaunt also includes a Feb. 28 stop at the Universal Amphitheatre in the Los Angeles area, where Rhymes will share the stage with fellow rapper Ludacris.
Released in late November, "Genesis" marks Rhymes' fifth studio album and is his first for J Records, with whom he signed after recording his previous four solo efforts for Elektra. The album, which is the follow-up to 2000's platinum certified "Anarchy," features contributions from the Neptunes, Pete Rock, Diamond D, Dr Dre, Battlecat, Kelis, Kokane, Mary J. Blige, Jaheim, Rah Digga, Flipmode Squad and P. Diddy.
In addition to his rap career, Rhymes has also found success as an actor with roles in films such as "Finding Forrester," "Shaft" and "Higher Learning." He will reportedly star as the Cowardly Lion in a 2002 TV musical version of "The Wizard of Oz" that will also feature Little Richard in the title role, along with Ginuwine (Scarecrow), Patti LaBelle (Wicked Witch) and Queen Latifah (Glinda the Good Witch).
