Cracker to open its latest North American jaunt in March
Alternative rock band Cracker is heading out on an extensive tour in support of its fifth studio album, “Forever.”
After playing a handful of shows in Europe, Cracker will begin the North American portion of the jaunt on March 8 at New York’s Irving Plaza. The itinerary currently stretches through May 8.
According to the band’s official website, the Cracker shows on March 8 in New York and March 9 in Boston will feature a few of singer-guitarist David Lowery’s former bandmates from Camper Van Beethoven.
On Feb. 15, Cracker will perform the song “Shine” on “The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn.”
The 13-song “Forever” (Virgin) was produced by Lowery and engineer John Morand. Additional tracks were co-produced by Lowery, Cracker guitarist Johnny Hickman, and Sparklehorse’s Mike Linkous. Cracker--which also includes keyboardist Kenny Margolis, drummer Frank Funaro and bassist Brandy Wood--recorded the album at Lowery’s Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, Va.
A limited edition of “Forever” features an accompanying live CD and includes versions of Status Quo's “Pictures of Matchstick Men,” as well as Cracker’s “Low,” “Teen Angst” and others.
