Prince reveals further U.S. dates in downsized venue tour

Prince has announced further outings in his opera-house and jazz-theater tour, set to kick off March 1 at the Heritage Center in Saginaw, MI.

Sets will reportedly feature unscripted, stripped-down versions of new songs and old hits, forgoing the flashy, choreographed glitz for which Prince is known. Expanding on the jazz leanings of the artist's October, 2001 release "The Rainbow Children," some dates will feature appearances by saxophonists Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer, among other guests.

Members of Prince's NPG Music Club, which requires a $100 annual fee, will reportedly be eligible for exclusive tour-related rewards.

Last June, Prince cancelled a 28-gig North American arena tour without explanation after playing only a few shows.
