A new album and new tour for Beth Orton

British indie-pop songstress Beth Orton will kick off a 17-date North America tour May 20 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The tour will conclude June 15 in Washington, D.C.

Orton is touring behind her forthcoming album, "Daybreaker" (Heavenly/Astralwerks), scheduled for release July 30. Her last album, the critically acclaimed "Central Reservation" (Arista), was released in 1999.

Ryan Adams, the Chemical Brothers, Johnny Marr, Emmylou Harris and Everything But the Girl's Ben Watt are among the artists who worked on the album.
