Country Vet George Strait Headlines Solo Arena Tour

George Strait will helm a U.S. arena tour this fall, beginning in Michigan on September 12. Jo Dee Messina will fill the opening slot.

The tour will finish in November in Strait's hometown of San Antonio, Tex., where he will be the first artist to perform in the city's new SBC Center.

Strait was one of the top-grossing touring artists of the '90s, bringing in more than $158 million according to Billboard. With scattered exceptions, his last four tour outings have been stadium shows featuring multiple artists. Strait's most recent album--his 28th release--is 2001's "The Road Less Traveled."
