Sonic Youth Announces Long-Awaited North American Tour
Alternative and experimental rock giants Sonic Youth will follow their European summer dates with a North American outing through August.
The tour begins its 24-date run August 1 in Dallas, and includes free concerts at New York’s Central Park Summerstage and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles before its final show at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival. Tickets will be available on the band’s website in advance of official on-sale dates.
Sonic Youth’s new album, “Murray Street”--the band’s 16th since its members came together in 1981--will be released June 25. Sonic Youth’s classic albums “Dirty,” “Goo” and “Daydream Nation” are slated for staggered reissues beginning this fall.
