Beck to Launch Solo Acoustic Tour

Alternative rocker Beck has announced a solo acoustic tour of the U.S. throughout the month of August, with the promise of more West Coast dates to come.

The tour heralds the release of the artist’s as-yet-untitled new album, due Sept. 24. Sound clips of the new album can be heard on Beck’s official website in the weeks leading up to the release.

It has been more than two years since Beck ’s last proper tour, which supported 1999’s “Midnite Vultures,” his venture into the territory of Prince-meets-kitsch funk, which attained top 40 status. Beck first came to national attention with his modern rock slacker anthem, “Loser,” in 1993.
