Beck Announces Fall Dates with Flaming Lips
Beck confirmed dates and on-sale info for the October leg of a fall tour. Show openers the Flaming Lips will also perform as the backup band for Beck's set.
The tour concept was originally announced in August, at which point Beck told MTV, "We re-created the albums perfectly for years, so I'm not really interested in doing that. Some of the songs are due for reinventing, and the Flaming Lips will probably bring ideas to it. We'll do whatever works."
Internet presales through artistdirect.com began on Sept. 11. More dates beyond October will be announced.
Beck's last tour was August's solo acoustic outing, which set up his most recent release, "Sea Change" (Interscope). The ever-experimental Flaming Lips released "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" (Warner), which has been noted for its flirtations with pop-electronica.
