Cher's farewell tour rolls into 2003
Cher , who hit the road last June for what she says will be her final tour, heads out later this month for another round of dates.
For her farewell outing, Cher has put together a setlist that includes material from throughout her nearly 40-year career, according to organizers.
The singer-actress, whose recording career began in 1965, released her most recent album, "Living Proof," last February. The collection features the hit single "A Song for the Lonely."
Cher first rose to fame in the mid-'60s with partner and then-spouse Sonny Bono. During her subsequent solo career, she has enjoyed several cycles of prominent commercial success, the most recent of which occurred in 1998. It was during that year that her single "Believe," featured on the album of the same name, hit No. 1.
The song went on to garner Cher the 1999 Grammy award for Best Dance Recording.
