Queens of the Stone Age hit the winter tour trail
Armed with a breakthrough album and a GRAMMY® nomination, Queens of the Stone Age kick off a headlining theater run next month.
The group is backing "Songs for the Deaf," which surfaced last August. Earlier this week, the band picked up a GRAMMY® nomination in the Hard Rock Performance category for the album's hit single, "No One Knows," which can be heard at the group's official website.
QOTSA made a name for itself by way of endless touring, which included slots on the 2000 and 2001 Ozzfest tours. The group's profile was also raised thanks to Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), who in numerous interviews spoke about his affinity for the band.
Anchored by founding members Josh Homme (vocals, guitar) and Nick Oliveri (bass), QOTSA's lineup has undergone frequent changes during the group's roughly five-year lifespan. Last summer, Grohl--who played drums on "Songs for the Deaf"--put the Foo Fighters on hold in order to man the drums on QOTSA's summer tour.
That tour's lineup also included former Screaming Trees vocalist Mark Lanegan and A Perfect Circle guitarist-keyboardist Troy Van Leeuwen.
