Erasure ventures across the pond for club tour

Vince Clarke and Andy Bell--a.k.a. Erasure --head to the U.S. for their first North American outing since 1997.

During the tour, the London-based duo plans to perform material from the new album, "Other People's Songs," as well as "favorites spanning their 15-year career," according to a press release.

"Other People's Songs," which hits stores on Jan. 28, includes the single "Solsbury Hill." That track, which recently debuted at No. 10 on the U.K. pop charts, was released in the U.S. on Tuesday (1/14) as an enhanced CD that includes a "Solsbury Hill" remix, two non-album tracks and a short film by Clarke and Bell.

Erasure has enjoyed moderate success in the U.S., but the group's popularity in the U.K. eclipses American interest, as evidenced by its five No. 1 albums on the U.K. album chart.

The group, which is perhaps best known in the states for the late-'80s hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect," has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, according to its publicist.
