The Recording Academy has bestowed GRAMMY^® Hall of Fame Awards on 21 recordings, including Led Zeppelin [ tickets ]'s single "Stairway To Heaven" and Fleetwood Mac [ tickets ]'s "Rumours" album.

There are now 606 titles on the list of Hall of Fame Awards recipients. The award was established in 1973.

Six of the recordings voted into the Hall this year were released in the 1960s (including Judy Collins' single "Both Sides Now" and Petula Clark's single "Downtown"), 11 from the '70s (among them Bruce Springsteen [ tickets ]'s "Born To Run" album) and four entries come from earlier decades.

"The purpose of the Hall Of Fame is to spotlight recorded musical masterpieces that have significantly impacted our musical history," Academy President Neil Portnow said in a statement. "This year's selections are outstanding recordings and compositions of social significance that uniquely represent pieces of our country's cultural history. They all greatly deserve to be memorialized."

Hall of Fame recordings are selected "by a panel of respected professionals from the recording arts field, including musicologists and historians," from among recordings released more than 25 years ago, according to the Recording Academy.
