Mudvayne mixes it up in North America
Alt-metal quartet Mudvayne continues its quest for world domination during a headlining run that precedes its stint on Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour.
The Peoria, Ill., group is backing its sophomore release, last November's "The End of All Things to Come." The set follows the band's 2000 debut, "L.D. 50."
"The End of All Things to Come" is available in a special edition that includes a bonus DVD containing 30 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and two previously unreleased tracks, titled "Goodbye" and "On the Move."
Known in the past for donning outlandish, sometimes gory, make-up and costumes, Mudvayne's members have recast themselves as aliens who are part of an extra-terrestrial plot to take over the earth, according the group's record-company biography.
As part of their transformation, the members have changed their already-bizarre names to even more outlandish monikers: singer Kud is now Chüd, guitarist Gurrg is now Güüg, drummer Spag is now Spüg and bassist Ryknow is now Rü-D.
Later this year, Mudvayne will head out with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and the Deftones as part of Metallica's second Summer Sanitarium Tour.
