Singer-songwriter Pete Yorn [ tickets ] follows the mid-April release of his sophomore album with a lengthy spring outing that touches down in North American theaters and clubs.

Internet presales begin on Thusday (3/13) and Friday (3/14) for tickets to a number of the shows, according to Yorn's website. California alt-rock quintet Grandaddy holds down the opening slot.

Yorn is gearing up for the headlining run to support "Day I Forgot," which is due in stores on April 15. The set is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut album, 2001's "Musicforthemorningafter."

In addition to playing nearly every instrument on "Musicforthemorningafter," Yorn also co-produced the set with Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate). The album features the cut "Strange Condition," which first appeared on the 2000 soundtrack for the Jim Carrey film "Me, Myself & Irene." The flick gave Yorn's career a boost, as he also composed the its score.

"Strange Condition," another track from "Musicforthemorningafter," makes a soundtrack appearance of its own on a compilation album spawned by the WB television series "Dawson's Creek."
