Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi to play New Jersey benefit

Bruce Springsteen , Jon Bon Jovi and Southside Johnny --three of New Jersey's best-known rock stars--are set to perform at an April 29 benefit concert at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, N.J.

The event, dubbed "The Hope Concert," will raise money for the Rock and Roll Music Fund, a charitable organization to support the ongoing care of Robert Bandiera Jr. An announcement of the event didn't specify the reason Bandiera needs ongoing care.

Bandiera's father, guitarist Bobby Bandiera, is a member of Southside Johnny's band the Asbury Jukes. Bandiera played guitar on Jon Bon Jovi's 1997 solo album, and his group the Bobby Bandiera Band has backed Springsteen at various charity events.

Bobby Bandiera and Gary U.S. Bonds are also scheduled to appear at the event.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday (3/21) at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time at the Count Basie Theatre box office and through its box office phone line, (732) 842-9000. Prices range from $100 to $300, and there will be a four-ticket limit per person.

In order to prevent scalping, all tickets will be held at the box office until the night of the concert. The person who purchased the tickets must claim them at the venue on the night of the show. Further details on the ticket policy are available at the Count Basie Theatre website.
