Radiohead locks down June release for new album
Experimental rock quintet Radiohead has finalized the details of its forthcoming album, "Hail to the Thief."
Set for release on June 10, "Hail to the Thief" features 14 songs, including a track titled "There There" that the group has selected for the first single. The track will be released as a CD single, according to a band announcement.
Radiohead split the recording sessions for "Hail to the Thief" between its homeland--Oxfordshire, England--and Los Angeles. The group co-produced the set with longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, and Godrich handled the mixing process.
"Hail to Thief," which is Radiohead's sixth album, is the follow-up to 2001's "Amnesiac." "Amnesiac" was a collection of tracks recorded during sessions for its predecessor, 2000's "Kid A."
The group plans to precede the release of its new album with a short European tour that kicks off in mid May, and will headline a series of European festivals this summer. The group is also plotting a summer/fall North American tour.
