Bob Dylan To Join Natalie Merchant For Northeast Tour

Bob Dylan will move directly from the end of his nearly month-long tour with the Brian Setzer Orchestra into a two-week tour with Natalie Merchant , set to kick off February 17th in Cleveland. Merchant will precede the Dylan leg of the tour with a series of west coast dates.

February will mark a year of extensive tour activity for Dylan since his latest release, 1997's Time Out Of Mind, was named Album of the Year at the 1998 Grammy Awards. In the process Dylan has mixed his tour packages to include both classic rock figures such as Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell, and newer folk and blues-inspired artists, including Ani DiFranco in late 1997 and Jann Arden, Dave Alvin, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Lucinda Williams in 1998.

Merchant supports her Ophelia album, which rests at the #170 position on the pop album chart this week in its 34th week of release.
