Neil Young and Crazy Horse prep for amphitheater tour
Neil Young and Crazy Horse have unveiled plans to perform in 26 North American cities this summer. The outing is set to get underway in June, after Young completes a solo-acoustic tour of Europe.
Though most of the itinerary had been confirmed at press time, several other dates will be announced. Singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams, who is scheduled to release a new album titled "World Without Tears" on April 8, will open on all North American dates, according to promoter Clear Channel Entertainment.
Crazy Horse's lineup has remained stable for several years: drummer Ralph Molina, bassist Billy Talbot, and guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro.
According to Clear Channel, Young has been working on a "musical novel" entitled "Greendale," which he'll release sometime this summer.
In a posting on his official website, Talbot wrote that he and Molina worked with Young on "Greendale."
"The album, which is also going to be a DVD, is finished and should be out in the next couple of months," Talbot wrote. "I really love this record."
The prolific Young, whose career spans nearly four decades, released his latest album, "Are You Passionate?," in April of 2002.
