Jethro Tull reveals plans for August tour

Art-rock stalwarts Jethro Tull , who will spend the spring and summer touring Europe, bring their show to North America in August.

A mix of theater, festival and amphitheater appearances fill the itinerary, which includes more than 20 stops. The band's touring lineup features frontman Ian Anderson, guitarist Martin Barre, drummer Doane Perry, keyboardist Andrew Giddings and bassist Jonathan Noyce.

At its Aug. 12 stop in Lenox, Mass., an orchestra will back the band.

Last May, Jethro Tull released a new DVD titled "Living with the Past," which includes career-spanning footage from live concerts, as well as songs re-recorded with original Tull members--Anderson, Mick Abrahams, Clive Bunker and Glen Cornick--and a string quartet. The group released a CD of the same name in April.

Anderson, Jethro Tull's singer and flautist, will embark on a North American solo tour from September through November, according to his band's official website.

The website describes Anderson's shows as "an intimate evening of acoustic songs, music and bawdy tales." The itinerary will be released later this year.
