Cold launches album with road work, lands Lollapalooza slot
Alt-metal quintet Cold , whose new album lands in stores later this month, is backing the release with an ambitious spring tour, followed by a slot on this summer's Lollapalooza bill.
The group's spring outing kicks off in Indianapolis on April 13, and dates currently stretch into early June. The itinerary includes four dates on which Cold will open for Boston rock outfit Godsmack . (Details appear in the itinerary below.)
In late July, the band will hook up with Lollapalooza for that tour's second and third legs. Cold will headline the festival's second stage during the second leg, and is then due to join the main stage lineup during the tour's third leg, according to the band's publicist.
Titled "Year of the Spider," Cold's new album is set for an April 29 release. The set features the group's latest single, "Stupid Girl," which is streaming at its website.
"Year of the Spider," Cold's third album, is the follow-up to 2000's "13 Ways to Bleed Onstage." The group's self-titled debut was released in 1998.
Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst discovered fellow Jacksonville, Fla., outfit Cold. He produced the band's demo in his home recording studio, and ultimately helped the group get signed to Interscope.
