Beck opens new round of U.S. dates in May
Beck 's U.S. tour behind his critically lauded 2002 album "Sea Change" will resume in late May with an itinerary that focuses on outdoor venues east of the Mississippi.
Nine dates had been confirmed at press time, and more are expected in the coming days. Dashboard Confessional and the Black Keys will support on all dates.
The U.S. outing follows the singer-songwriter's European tour, which gets underway later this month.
In an unusual move last year, Beck tapped the Flaming Lips as both his opening act and as his backing band. The Lips won't be involved in the new trek.
"Sea Change," which was produced by Nigel Godrich (Beck's "Mutations," Radiohead), was ranked as 2002's No. 2 album by the 695 critics polled for the Village Voice's annual Pazz & Jop survey.
Dashboard Confessional releases a new album titled "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" in July. The Black Keys' debut, "Thickfreakness," hit stores on Tuesday (4/8).
