Foo Fighters still rationing out tour dates
Tour dates continue to trickle in for the Foo Fighters ' already-in-progress North American tour behind last year's "One by One."
For a number of weeks, the group has been unveiling only a few dates at a time; the run currently stretches to the end of June. So far, the latter half of April is fairly well packed, but there are still sizeable gaps in the band's May and June itinerary.
Tickets for many of the shows are on sale now, and pre-sales are set for several remaining dates. Details are posted in the tour section at the group's website.
In addition to its North American tour plans, the Foo Fighters are also confirmed to perform at the U.K.'s V Festival on Aug. 16 and 17. That event also features Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, PJ Harvey and others.
No word on whether group founder and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl might grace the stage with additional V Festival act Queens of the Stone Age , on whose latest album he played drums. He also served as the group's touring drummer last year.
In late March, Grohl took on another moonlighting gig when he recorded the drum parts on an upcoming album from Killing Joke. Tentatively titled "Axis of Evil," the set is due out this summer, though no release date has been announced. Grohl has no plans to tour with the group.
It took Grohl and his bandmates--Taylor Hawkins (drums), Chris Shiflett (guitar) and Nate Mendel (bass)--only 12 days to record "One by One," which surfaced last October. The album spawned the single "All My Life," which earlier this year won the group a GRAMMY® award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
