Tracy Chapman tours North America behind 'Let it Rain'
With a tour of Europe now in the books, singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman returns to North America for series of concert dates that get underway in June.
The Cleveland native is on the road behind her sixth studio album, "Let it Rain," which was released in December. She co-produced the set with John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels), and recorded it with a core group of musicians that included drummer Joey Waronker, bassist Andy Stoller, keyboard-player Patrick Warren, and guitarists Joe Gore, Steve Hunter and Greg Leisz.
Earlier this year, a limited-edition version of "Let it Rain" that contains a bonus CD with five live tracks was issued. The live material was recorded in November of 2002 in Berlin for a French-German television show.
Chapman made a quick impression with her self-titled 1988 debut album, which featured the hit "Fast Car" and has sold more than 6 million copies in the U.S. to date. Her 1996 album "New Beginning"--thanks to the Top 10 single "Give Me One Reason"--is certified five-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
