Mariah Carey reworking tour plans

Mariah Carey 's previously announced North American tour plans, which were confirmed by her representatives earlier this month, are being reworked.

"Mariah is planning something really special for her Charmbracelet 2003 U.S. tour," a posting on her official website said on Friday (5/16). "The dates and venues are changing. Keep checking back here for the latest info."

According to Carey's site, fans who purchased tickets to her Chicago; St. Paul, Minn.; Manchester, Tenn;, and Toronto shows--which went on sale before the change in plans--should "hold onto your confirmations/receipts as we will be providing additional information shortly."

Carey's publicist couldn't be reached at press time, but Billboard.com reported that the tour is being downsized to 'something more intimate,' and that a revamped itinerary could be out as early as next week.

Carey plans to tour the U.S. to back her new album, "Charmbracelet," which has sold more than three million copies worldwide since its December release, according to her label.

LiveDaily will post the new itinerary and any other information when it becomes available.
