Björk readies summer tour and live box set

Eclectic singer Björk will take a swing through the U.S. this summer, and also plans to release a massive live project.

So far, the Icelandic artist has lined up a handful of August stops in the U.S., which follow her May, June and July performances in Europe, Russia and Japan. Björk's website is offering pre-sale tickets for a number of U.S. dates.

Electronica duo Matmos, harpist Zeena Parkins and the Icelandic String Octet will back the singer during her outing.

Matmos and Parkins performed on Björk's most-recent studio album, 2001's "Vespertine," and toured with her behind that release. The Icelandic String Octet, meanwhile, played on Björk's 1997 set, "Homogenic," and toured with her in support of that effort.

Design trio Lynn Fox, which created the Björk's video for "Nature is Ancient"--a track that appears on Björk's November 2002 box set, "Family Tree"--is creating five new videos that Björk will incorporate into her stage show, according to her website.

This summer, Björk plans to release live versions of each of her studio albums: "Debut" (1993), "Post" (1995), "Homogenic" and "Vespertine." The albums will surface in June and July, and will also be offered as a limited-edition box set.
