Adema [ tickets ] will pave the way for the release of its sophomore album by embarking on a summer club tour of the U.S.

The outing gets underway on June 1 in Chico, Calif., and is so far scheduled to run through early July. Opening for Adema will be newly signed Arista group Automatic Black, which is due to issue a new album in October.

Adema emerged in 2001 and 2002 with the tracks "Giving In" and "The Way You Like It," both of which garnered heavy airplay on rock radio. The group's sophomore effort, "Unstable," is scheduled for release on Aug. 19, and the title-track will hit radio on June 23, according to Arista Records.

The new album was produced by Howard Benson (P.O.D., Cold), and features 11 new tracks. Frontman Marky Chavez said in a statement that U2 and "the rawness of a band like Nirvana" were heavy influences.

"There are very personal demons that were dealt with in making the record, and as artists, we took big chances on songs like 'So Fortunate' which is about my newborn son, and 'Let Go,'" he said. "My favorite song would be 'Codependent,' which deals with every human being's vices."

"Unstable" follows Adema's 2002 EP "Insomniac's Dream," which features the track "Immortal" (recorded for the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance video game), two previously unreleased songs and alternate versions of four songs from the group's self-titled 2001 debut album.
