John Mellencamp issues a new album titled "Trouble No More"--which features 11 cover songs and one original--on June 3.
Among the acts whose material Mellencamp covers on the album are Robert Johnson, Woody Guthrie, Willie Dixon, Hoagy Carmichael and Lucinda Williams .
The original Mellencamp composition, "To Washington," is an anti-war anthem that was first heard earlier this year via his website.
"There There," the video for Radiohead 's new single, was screened throughout Tuesday (5/20) on the Jumbotron video screen in New York's Times Square. The track is from Radiohead's forthcoming album, "Hail to the Thief," which is set for release on June 10.
Starting on June 2, MTV.com will be streaming the album in its entirety on MTV.com.
Avril Lavigne played a free concert at Dunkirk High School in Dunkirk, N.Y., on Monday (5/20). The high school's students--who collected nearly a million index cards with messages for U.S. troops in the Middle East--won a contest sponsored by Buffalo radio station Kiss 98.5.
A documentary film tentatively titled " Bob Dylan Anthology Project"--about the life of the legendary rocker--is in the works for a planned 2005 release, director Martin Scorsese and his production company said in a statement. The documentary is expected to have a limited theatrical release before it is broadcast on PBS in the U.S. and on BBC in the U.K.
Software company Roxio announced this week that it has acquired the online music subscription service Pressplay from Sony and Universal Music. The company plans to redesign the service and relaunch it as Napster in early 2004. Roxio bought the Napster name in bankruptcy court late last year.
