Trapt and Seether keep on touring behind debut albums
Alt-rockers Trapt and Seether continue to back their 2002 inaugural efforts with a spring and summer club tour that features show-opener Smile Empty Soul.
Los Gatos, Calif.-based Trapt released its self-titled debut last November. The album, which includes the single "Headstrong," has moved more than 500,000 copies to date, according to the band's website.
The group's site features free mp3s of "Headstrong" and "Still Frame," as well as streaming versions of the "Headstrong" music video, a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot, and the band's live rendition of the track.
Trapt formed in 1995, and cites Korn, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, 311 and Metallica as its influences. The group recorded its 12-song debut in Vancouver, British Columbia, with producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine).
Alt-rock trio Seether is backing its August 2002 debut set, "Disclaimer." Streaming samples of the album's dozen tracks are posted at the group's website, as are videos for the cuts "Driven Under" and "Fine Again."
Earlier this year, a new Seether song titled "Hang On" turned up on the "Daredevil" soundtrack.
Smile Empty Soul issues its self-titled debut on May 27.
In addition to their co-headlining club tour, Trapt and Seether also have a number of one-off performances scheduled at various summer festivals. Details are posted at each band's respective website.
