Summer dates on tap for Martina McBride

Martina McBride [ tickets ], who recently took home her second consecutive Top Female Vocalist award from the Academy of Country Music, will spend her summer on the road.

The singer is scheduled to play a mix of U.S. fairs, festivals and headlining dates from coast to coast.

McBride is currently at work on a new album, which RCA expects to release this fall. Her latest set is 2001's "Greatest Hits," which features 13 previously released songs and four new recordings.

All four of the new songs on "Greatest Hits"--"When God Fearin' Women Get the Blues," "Blessed," "Where Would You Be" and "Concrete Angel"--were hits on the country charts, and the album has been certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Besides her recent win at the ACMs, McBride is also the reigning Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year.

The video for McBride's latest single, "Concrete Angel," recently earned her the CMT Flameworthy Female Video of the Year honor. Its directors, Deaton/Flanigan picked up a trophy for Video Director of the Year. The song tells the story of a young girl who is abused by her mother.
