Finger Eleven backs new album with summer outing

After working more than 18 months on the follow-up to 2000's "The Greyest of Blue Skies," Canadian rockers Finger Eleven return in June with their self-titled third album and some roadwork to back it.

The new set is scheduled for release on June 17, and the video for the track "Good Times" is streaming at the band's official website.

The group recorded the album at producer Johnny K's (Disturbed) studio in Chicago and in Los Angeles.

"Johnny knows that it's all about capturing an attitude and a vibe, so he insisted on making sure that things came together as organically as possible," drummer Rich Beddoe said in a statement. "There's very little post-production on the album--and if you listen really closely, you can hear some minor mistakes. Johnny insisted on leaving those in because it made everything so much more real."

The album will include a bonus DVD that features live performances, behind-the-scenes shots of the band members at home, and footage of the group working at the studio in Chicago and Los Angeles.

The upcoming tour schedule includes a stint as a support act on Ozzy Osbourne's Canadian dates, as well as a series of U.S. and Canadian club shows that run into mid July.

Hard-rock quartet Echo7 supports on most of Finger Eleven's dates. The South Carolina-based group recently put the finishing touches on its debut album, "One Step Away, which is due in stores on July 29.

"One Step Away" was produced by Pete Matthews (Dust for Life, Evanesance), and mixed by Michael Barbieri (Guns N' Roses, Metallica), and will be the inaugural release on Universal Records' In De Goot imprint.
