Poison, Skid Row and Vince Neil crank up more shows
Eighties-era metal favorites Poison , Skid Row and Vince Neil keep their triple-bill tour rolling non-stop well into August.
The rockers recently added a number of August shows to the lengthy run, which kicked off late last month, and Poison has also begun penciling in some shows sans Skid Row and Neil.
Poison is spending its fifth consecutive summer headlining a multi-act roster with some of its '80s-era peers. Things got started back in 1999, when the band hit the road with Ratt, Great White and L.A. Guns; 2000's lineup teamed the group with Cinderella, Dokken and Slaughter; 2001's bill included Warrant, Quiet Riot and Enuff Z'Nuff; and last summer, the group embarked on a run with Winger, Cinderella and Faster Pussycat.
Poison's most recent release is last May's "Hollyweird." Group frontman Bret Michaels released his first solo album, "Songs of Life," last month.
During the upcoming tour, Skid Row delivers a new album titled "Thickskin," which the group is releasing on its new indie label, Skid Row Records. The set, which is due in stores on July 22, features founding members Rachel Bolan (bass), Dave "Snake" Sabo (guitar) and Scotti Hill (guitar), along with new drummer Phil Varone and singer Johnny Solinger, who has replaced the band's well-known original frontman, Sebastian Bach.
Motley Crue frontman Neil hasn't released a new solo set since 1995's "Carved in Stone." Earlier this year, the singer appeared in a WB Television reality series titled "The Surreal Life," in which he shared a house with Emmanuel Lewis, M.C. Hammer, Corey Feldman and others.
