The White Stripes keep rolling out more dates
The White Stripes have begun to pencil in dates for the second half of their summer run through the U.S.
Minimalist rockers Jack and Meg White hit the amphitheatre circuit later this month, beginning with a June 13 performance at California radio station Live 105's BFD 2003 festival. There, they'll share the main-stage roster with Foo Fighters, A.F.I., Deftones and Evanescence.
A series of headlining shows and radio-festival dates follow before the duo heads across the pond in mid-July for a pair of Euro festivals. Their post-Europe plans find them back in the states for another round of shows that kicks off in late July and, so far, extends into early August.
The White Stripes released "Elephant" on April 1. The album features the single "Seven Nation Army," which is riding in the Top 5 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.
Last month, the group picked up a pair of nominations for Canada's annual Much Music Video Awards; the group is up for awards in the Best International Video--Group (for "Seven Nation Army") and People's Choice: Favourite International Group (for "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground") categories. The awards ceremony takes place in Toronto on June 22.
"Elephant" is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2001 set "White Blood Cells," which features the hits "Fell in Love With a Girl" and "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."
Originally released on indie label Sympathy for the Record Industry, "White Blood Cells" was re-released last year on BMG imprint V2.
