Glen Campbell augments Branson residency with scattered dates

Glen Campbell [ tickets ] will spend September and October co-headlining with Andy Williams at Branson, Mo.'s Moon River Theater, but the singer-guitarist will play plenty of concerts elsewhere in North America over the next year.

The country-gospel artist--whose itinerary includes a mix of fairs, festivals, casinos and music halls--has scheduled concert dates as far out as May 2004.

Campbell's latest album release is 2002's "In Concert with the South Dakota Symphony," which was also issued on DVD and VHS. The album includes live renditions of 22 songs, including Campbell's hits "Wichita Lineman," "Gentle on My Mind," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Rhinestone Cowboy" and "Galveston."

The DVD version includes behind-the-scenes footage, a photo gallery, a discography and a biography.

Campbell gained widespread fame when his CBS television show, "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," debuted in 1969. By that point he had already established a very successful career as a studio musician--he played guitar with the Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, among many others--and as a solo artist.

In 1967, Campbell won GRAMMY® awards for Best Song in the country and pop categories; "Gentle On My Mind" took the country honors, and "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" won in pop.

Campbell has issued more than 70 albums over his more than 40 years in show business. According to his publicist, he has sold more than 45 million records to date, and has logged 27 Top 10 singles.
