Whitesnake leads 'Rock Never Stops' tour
Whitesnake , Warrant , Kip Winger and Slaughter --all acts that had their peak successes in the '80s--are gearing up for the 2003 edition of North America's "Rock Never Stops" tour, which kicks off on July 11 in Manchester, N.H.
Sponsored by VH1 Classic, the outing hits amphitheaters, arenas and fairs through August.
Whitesnake, the tour's headliner, recently released the two-CD set "Here I Go Again: The Whitesnake Collection." It includes the hit title track, as well as "Still of the Night" and "Is This Love."
Warrant, headed by lead singer Jani Lane, scored hits with "Cherry Pie" and "Down Boys." The band's latest album, "Under the Influence," includes a mix of covers ("Toys in the Attic," "Suffragette City") and originals.
As the lead singer of Winger, Kip Winger earned multi-platinum success with hits like "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak." He will perform songs from his solo album "Songs from the Ocean Floor."
The final band on the tour, Slaughter, is prepping remastered reissues of its double-platinum albums "Stick it to Ya" and "The Wild Life" with bonus tracks.
