Rockers Type O Negative back new LP with U.S tour
Stalwart goth-metal band Type O Negative launches a U.S. tour in late July after wrapping up a series of dates in Europe.
The jaunt so far stretches into late August, and additions to the itinerary are expected soon.
On June 17, the Brooklyn-based band released "Life is Killing Me," which debuted at No. 1 on CMJ's Crucial Spins and FMOB's Metal Detector airplay charts. It also landed at No. 1 on Radio and Records' Specialty chart.
Prior to the album's release, the group leaked some of the album's tracks on its official website.
Led by vocalist/bassist/songwriter Peter Steele, Type O Negative formed in 1989. Its 1993 album "Bloody Kisses" brought the band into the mainstream, thanks to its cover of Seals and Crofts' "Summer Breeze." It furthered its success in 1996 with its album "October Rust," which spawned the song "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend."
