50 Cent, B2K go home with two BET Awards apiece

Rapper 50 Cent took home Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best New Artist at the third annual BET Awards, the network's annual celebration of music, sports and acting.

The awards were handed out at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on Tuesday (6/24).

B2K also won a pair of awards at the ceremony--Viewers' Choice (chosen live via BET.com) and Best Group.

Other notables included Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant, who was awarded Best Male Athlete for the second year in a row; and Jaheim and R. Kelly, who tied for Best Male R&B Artist.

James Brown and hoopster Earvin "Magic" Johnson picked up BET's Lifetime Achievement and Humanitarian Awards, respectively.
