3 Doors Down tack more dates onto summer tour schedule

3 Doors Down [ tickets ], which recently launched its summer tour, plans to remain on the road well into September as it continues to back last year's "Away from the Sun."

Joining the group on the outing are Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace, who earlier this month released "Live," a set recorded in Calgary and Edmonton during the group's outing behind last year's "Gravity."

South African rock trio Seether and Florida alt-metal outfit Shinedown also hold down opening slots on the run.

3 Doors Down [ tickets ]'s "Away from the Sun," which surfaced last November, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The set features the No. 1 hit "When I'm Gone."

Also included on the album are the title track, "Here Without You" and "The Road I'm On," three cuts that that group recently recorded acoustically in New Orleans, according to the band's website. No word on where the acoustic cuts will turn up.

The music video for "The Road I'm On," the latest single from "Away from the Sun," is streaming at 3 Doors Down's website. The clip features NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Tony Stewart.
