Briefly: Dave Matthews, Beanie Sigel, Moscow concert bombing, Seal, System of a Down
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that a line of thunderstorms blew through southern Wisconsin at about 3:30 p.m., when fans began to show up for the 7 p.m. concert. Five of the injured were hospitalized, but their conditions weren't available.
Rapper Beanie Sigel is free on bail after he turned himself in to police on Thursday night (7/3) in connection with a Tuesday (7/1) shooting in Philadelphia.
Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, is accused of shooting Terrence Speller, 26, in the stomach and foot. Sigel, who faces an attempted murder charge, reportedly denies any involvement in the shooting.
Speller is expected to recover from is injuries, according to published reports.
Fifteen people--including two women who reportedly detonated explosives they had strapped to their bodies--were killed when bombers struck a Moscow rock concert, according to Russian press reports.
No group has claimed responsibility for the Saturday (7/5) bombings, but officials are openly speculating that Chechen rebels were behind the suicide attacks, which also resulted in 59 injuries.
Vocalist and songwriter Seal is set to release "Seal IV" on Sept. 9, according to Warner Bros. Records. The album's first single, "Waiting for You," is streaming at Seal's official website.
Trevor Horn produced the set, and Seal wrote or co-wrote each of the album's 11 tracks.
System of a Down's Serj Tankian has written more than two-dozen new songs for the band's next album, which he will co-produce with Rick Rubin, according to the group's publicist.
The group is scheduled to play the U.K.'s Leeds and Reading festivals in August--the group's only planned concerts this year--before beginning rehearsals for the new material.
