Dave Matthews Band Expands Summer Itinerary

update: Dave Matthews Band has announced summer tour stops in 11 new cities and has added additional dates at three venues. Opening acts have also been confirmed for much of the tour, which gets underway on June 19 in Columbus, Ohio.

The band unveiled plans for a summer tour of amphitheaters and stadiums last month. New dates have been added to previously announced stands at Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, Ind., Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., and The Gorge in George, Wash.

Appearances at two Florida arenas have been added to the band's September plans. All other shows will take place outdoors.

The tour's opening acts will include Me'Shell Ndegeocello (June 19 through June 23), Guster (June 24 through June 27) and Medeski Martin & Wood (July 28-Aug-2).

For stadium shows from June 29 to July 25, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals will be the middle act and Ozomotli will open.

A limited number of advance tickets are made available to members of the band's official fan club, who pay a $30 annual membership fee. Under the arrangement, members can attempt to purchase seats from a ticket allotment by entering a lottery system prior to the public onsale date. Further details about the program, which was unveiled prior to the band's spring 1999 tour, are available through the band's official fan club website.
