Powerman 5000 links up with Adema for summer outing
Alt-metal acts Powerman 5000 and Adema join forces in late July for a swing on the U.S. club circuit.
The run kicks off on July 20, and all dates so far take place east of the Rockies. Tickets for many of the shows are on sale now.
Powerman 5000 has been on the road since early May while backing its new album, "Transform." The set landed in stores on May 20 and debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Helping to get the album off the ground was the single "Free," the music video for which is streaming at the group's website.
The album's second single, "Action," is one of two Powerman 5000 cuts that turn up at the movie theater this summer; the song is featured on the "Tomb Raider 2" soundtrack, while a previously unreleased track titled "Bombshell" is included on the "Freddy vs. Jason" soundtrack.
In August, Adema plans to drop its second full-length effort, titled "Unstable." The album is currently being mixed in London, according to the band's website. Fans can get an early listen to the title track via Arista Records' Adema media player.
"Unstable" is Adema's follow-up to last year's "Insomniac's Dream" EP, and is the group's first full-length set since its self-titled 2001 debut.
Spineshank--whose new album "Self-Destructive Pattern" surfaces on Sept. 9--will hold down one of the tour's opening slots. Another yet-to-be-named act will also join the roster, according to Spineshank's label, Roadrunner Records.
