Slightly Stoopid, Skillz, others added to Sprite Liquid Mix tour
Organizers have nailed down the main-stage and second-stage lineups for the outing, which break down as follows: N.E.R.D. with Kelis, O.A.R., The Roots, Talib Kweli, Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Skillz head up the main stage, while Slightly Stoopid, High Speed Scene, Spymob, Borialis and Red Wanting Blue take control of the second stage.
Jessy Moss joins the second-stage roster from opening day through Aug. 31, then turns the slot over to the Wylde Bunch from Sept. 1 though the tour's finale, while Red Wanting Blue fills in for Slightly Stoopid on Sept. 6 and 7, according to a press release.
The 20-city outing kicks off in mid August with two consecutive shows in Denver on Aug. 14 and 15, and wraps up in the Boston area a month later. Ticket prices are set at $10, according to the event's website.
Each Sprite Liquid Mix stop is slated to be a seven-hour event "catering to a cross-cultural, ethnically diverse teen and young-adult audience," and will be an "environment where fans, artists and athletes participate in the event's free expression and free exchange of music, culture, sport and activity," according to a press release.
In addition to musical performances, the event will feature a BMX-biker exhibition, half-court basketball match-ups, a video-game lounge that will showcase the PlayStation 2 gaming system, DJs, graffiti artists, and strength and endurance contests.
