Briefly: The White Stripes, Staind, Beanie Sigel, ZZ Top, A Perfect Circle
The White Stripes have postponed all of their upcoming shows through Aug. 10 due to a hand injury that frontman and guitarist Jack White suffered in a July 9 car accident.
According to the duo's label, White suffered a compound fracture to his left index finger in the wreck. The affected shows are: Providence, RI (7/19), Boston (7/20), New York (7/21-7/23), Philadelphia (7/25), Washington, DC (7/26), Norfolk, VA (7/27), Nashville (7/29), Indianapolis (7/30), Pittsburgh (8/1), Cincinnati (8/2), Columbus, OH (8/3), Cleveland (8/4), Toronto (8/5), Montreal (8/6), Milwaukee (8/9) and Detroit (8/10).
"Every effort if being made to reschedule these shows as soon as possible," said a V2 Records statement. "The White Stripes deeply value the relationship they have with their fans and regret any inconvenience caused by these current events and are thankful for their patience and understanding."
Staind 's Tuesday (7/15) night performance at Sunken Gardens in San Antonio was postponed as Hurricane Claudette made landfall in southern Texas, according to the group's publicist.
The show has been rescheduled for Oct. 10, and all tickets will be honored on the later date.
The group is on the road to back its latest release, "14 Shades of Grey."
During a Monday (7/14) court hearing, rapper Beanie Sigel was ordered held without bond pending a trial on weapons charges. Jay-Z reportedly took the stand to ask that Sigel be allowed to continue touring with the summer Rock the Mic outing, but his request was denied.
Sigel allegedly tossed a gun out of his vehicle's window during an April traffic stop, and was charged last week with being a felon in possession of a firearm and jailed.
The rapper also attended a preliminary hearing Monday on a separate attempted murder charge.
ZZ Top 's "Mescalero" album, which was originally set for release in April but was pushed back due to restructuring at RCA Records, is now scheduled to hit stores on Sept. 9.
Lead singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons produced the 16-track set.
All six dates on A Perfect Circle 's upcoming mini tour to advance of their sophomore album, "Thirteenth Step," sold out in less than 5 minutes, according to Virgin Records.
