Dashboard Confessional continues to shape tour plans

MXPX, Vendetta Red and Brand New join Dashboard Confessional on its upcoming tour, which now stretches into October.

The outing kicks off in late August, following the Aug. 12 release of Dashboard Confessional's third full-length studio album, "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar." Group anchorman Chris Carraba wrote the set's 13 tracks, while Gil Norton (the Pixies, Belly, Foo Fighters) produced.

The first single, titled "Hands Down," is streaming at Dashboard Confessional's website. The cut is also available for purchase via Apple Computer's iTunes Music Store.

Punk-pop trio MXPX recently finished work on its follow-up to 2000's "The Ever Passing Moment." Titled "Before Everything and After," the set will surface sometime in August, according to MXPX's website.

Vendetta Red released its Epic Records debut, "Between the Never and the Now," on June 24. The 12-track set features seven cuts that originally turned up on the group's 2001 LP "White Knuckled Substance," issued by Seattle indie-label Loveless. Streaming samples of all of the new album's tracks are posted at Vendetta Red's website.

Brand New's sophomore effort, "Deja Entendu," landed in stores on June 17. The music video for the first single, "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows," recently began airing on MTV.
