Briefly: Lyle Lovett, Erik Braunn, Stereophonics, Iron Maiden, LeAnn Rimes
Lyle Lovett has signed a deal with Lost Highway Records, and will release a new album titled "My Baby Don't Tolerate" on Sept. 20, according to the label.
Lovett and longtime collaborator Billy Williams produced the set, and the title track will hit radio stations in August.
Guitarist Erik Braunn, best known for the guitar riff he played in Iron Butterfly 's classic epic "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," reportedly died of cardiac arrest on Friday (7/25). He was 52.
According to a biography posted at Braunn's official website before his death, he was "stricken with a debilitating physical ailment to which the doctors know little about, nor a cure."
U.K. rockers Stereophonics are scheduled to play a series of "stripped down shows" at Virgin Megastores in the U.S. to back the Sept. 9 release of their new album, "You Gotta Go There To Come Back."
The Virgin Megastore dates take place on Sept. 9 at New York City's Union Square; Sept. 10 in Boston; Sept. 12 in Chicago; and Sept. 13 in Los Angeles.

The alleged victim, who suffered a wrist injury and bruises, claims that McBrain intentionally hit him after he asked to see his pass.
McBrain was charged with third-degree assault and released. He is scheduled in court on Sept. 16.
