Guster confirms new batch of late-summer, early-fall dates

Boston-based alt-pop trio Guster opens a new round of tour dates in August, hitting a mix of clubs, festivals in theaters through early October.

More than a dozen dates are on the itinerary so far, and more will be added. "We're playing so many cities that you have the right to bear a grievance against the State of Guster if yours is left out," said a recent announcement on the band's website.

The group is on the road behind its fourth album, "Keep It Together," which hit stores in June and debuted at No. 35 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The set, produced by Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Josh Rouse) and Ron Aniello (Ian Hunter), also had a run as the most-downloaded rock album on Apple's iTunes Music Store, and as the No. 2 most-downloaded album on iTunes overall.

"Keep It Together" is the follow up to Guster's 1999 set, "Lost and Gone Forever." The new album--which is streaming in its entirety at the band's website--was recorded between November 2001 and February 2003.

On Aug. 7, before opening for Ziggy Marley at the Radio & Records Triple A 2003 Radio Summit, the group will make an in-store appearance at Bart's CD Cellar and Record Shop in Boulder, CO.
