Jim Brickman readies holiday album, plots tour dates
Pianist Jim Brickman has begun mapping out plans for a tour that will support his forthcoming holiday release, "Peace."
Brickman, who has a few August concerts left on his schedule, will follow his new album's Sept. 23 release with a U.S. run that so far features a handful of October, November and December dates.
The 13 tracks on "Peace" feature "'Brickmanized' versions of classic holiday favorites," according to a press release, including "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," "Jingle Bells" and "We Three Kings. Guest vocalists who appear on the set include The Blind Boys of Alabama, Anne Cochran, Tracy Silverman and "Today Show" pop-idol finalist Kristy Starling, who sings on a new holiday cut titled "Sending You a Little Christmas."
Also featured on the album is Collin Raye, who turns up on the title track, "Peace (Where the Heart Is)." Fans can download the song as an MP3 file from Brickman's website.
The site also features an MP3 of "American Idol" finalist Clay Aiken's recent performance of Brickman's "Love of My Life."
"Peace" is Brickman's follow-up to last year's "Love Songs and Lullabies."
