Briefly: Justin Timberlake, Willie Nelson, Ted Nugent, MTV Magazine, Jim Croce

Justin Timberlake will play a concert at New York's Roseland Ballroom on Aug. 28, immediately following the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony.

According to a press release, the concert "will resemble his scaled down club show, which he's performed in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and New York." Tickets go on sale on Saturday (8/23) at noon Eastern Time.

Willie Nelson has postponed two planned September fundraising concerts for Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, which were to have taken place in Des Moines and Cleveland in early September. According to the Kucinich campaign, the events will be rescheduled.

Ted Nugent has filed suit against the city of Muskegon, MI, a concert promoter and several city officials, claiming that the cancellation of his scheduled June 30 concert in the city damaged his reputation and his career.

Nugent's Muskegon concert was canceled after two Denver DJs claimed they had to cut a May 5 interview with the rocker short after he used several racial slurs.

"In a world of political correctness, there is no more reputation-destroying term than racist," Nugent said in a statement issued on Friday (8/22) by his attorney. "And the alleged statements falsely attributed to me could not have been more inaccurate or misleading, completely counter to what I stand for."

To mark the 30th anniversary of the death of singer-songwriter Jim Croce in a plane crash, a new DVD and CD of previously unreleased material will soon be in stores.

"Jim Croce Home Recordings: Americana," an album of songs recorded by Croce in his Pennsylvania home, and "Have You Heard: Jim Croce Live," which documents Croce's television performances from the early '70s, are both set for release on Oct. 14.
